The Dutch brand Imps & Elfs, founded in 1997, is not only cute, colorful and humorous but also uses organic materials, which are traded fairly through the fashion organization MADE-BY.

MADE-BY is an independent consumer label for fashion companies who continuously improve and are transparent about the social, economic and ecological conditions throughout the whole supply chain of their collections. The mission of MADE-BY is to make sustainable fashion common practice.
 
What caracterizes the 100% organic kids wear and organic baby wear from Imps & Elfs is design without frills which focuses on the child's shapes. The brand does not design for little prinsesses and cute boys but has a bit of a rock n’ rool attitude with great colours and funny statements like: "What a mess, they want me to wear a dress". Still there are beautiful pastels for the newborns.

Little Marc Jacobs FW'09

In 1986 Marc Jacobs designed his first collection with the Marc Jacobs label. The following year, Jacobs received the distinct honor of being the youngest designer ever to be awarded the fashion industry’s highest tribute: The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Perry Ellis Award for New Fashion Talent.

In 1989 Marc Jacobs and business partner Robert Duffy joined Perry Ellis as Vice-President of Women’s Design and President respectively. In 1992, the CFDA once again bestowed Jacobs with a distinct honor: the Women’s Designer of the Year Award for his fabled Grunge Collection.

Jacobs and Duffy joined Louis Vuitton in 1997, Jacobs as Artistic Director and Duffy as Studio Director. They also opened the first Marc Jacobs free standing store on Mercer Street in New York’s Soho district.

Jacobs introduced the secondary line, Marc by Marc Jacobs, with a spring 2001 runway show. He has gone on to win seven CFDA awards including Womenswear Designer of the Year, Accessories Designer of the Year and Menswear designer of the year.

The first multi-brand store in the U.S. opened in August 2004 on Boston’s Newbury Street and May 2005 brought the opening of 3 new stores in Los Angeles.

Multiple freestanding stores and shop–in-shops continue to open domestically and across the Far East. Currently Marc Jacobs Collection and Marc by Marc Jacobs stores can be found in four locations in Hong Kong, four locations in Taiwan, twenty-five locations in Japan (including flagships in Osaka and Aoyama) and five locations in Korea.

The company opened their first free-standing European store in Paris at The Palais Royal in January, 2006 and followed with a London location in February, 2007. In the Spring of 2007 a full line of children’s wear, aptly named Little Marc Jacobs was launched.

The company has expanded to more than 100 stores worldwide. 2009 will bring new stores in London, Sao Paolo and Milan and a Collection store in Chicago.

Marc Jacobs and Robert Duffy are committed to giving back to the communities where they have stores and have been involved with over 60 charities. Their continual support of these charitable projects continues to be a top priority.

Little Paul & Joe FW'09 has finally arrived!

Paul & Joe is a Parisian brand from designer Sophie Albou. The label started in 1995 as a menswear line. In 1996 the line expanded to include clothing for women and children, as well as, a cosmetics line. Paul & Joe is named after her two sons. Trend: NUDE-farvepaletten

Nu lyder det måske lige voksent nok, men et andet ord for NUDE vil være pastel, pudder eller hudfarvet, for at gøre det helt leverposteg :) Kært barn har mange navne... Hvis det skulle være gået nogen forbi, så er forårets/sommerens helt store hit buksedragter. De fås i alle afskygninger: mønstrede og ensfarvede, langærmede og med stropper, med lange ben eller korte... det er præcis som man ønsker dem. 

Dette er også en trend, der gælder for de små piger. Og sikke et held - for hvor praktisk er det ikke lige med to dele i een?! Trend: Chinos med opsmøg

Den helt store trend denne sommer er opsmøgede chinos. Mænd gør det, kvinder gør det, og nu har trenden også spredt sig til de små poder. Tricket er at "rulle" dem op, så opsmøget ikke bliver for bredt, og kun lige til over anklerne. Nemt - og giver et dejligt sommerligt casual look - især hvis man vælger pastelfarver men mørkere farver kan også gøre det :)

ACNE blev grundlagt i 1996 i Stockholm af fire creative ildsjæle med en vision om at skabe brands – til dem selv og andre. Det særprægede navn er en forkortelse af Ambition to Create Novel Expressions (ambition om at skabe nye udtryk, red.) 

Deres forudsætninger var vidt forskellige, og således blev ACNE til et kreativt kollektiv som huser ACNE Film (reklamefilm), ACNE Creative (marketingbureau), ACNE Digital (produktionsselskab med speciale i web), ACNE Paper (magasin med indhold fra alle ACNE afdellingerne), ACNE Junior (legetøj) og ikke mindst ACNE Jeans (high fashion mode til mænd og kvinder). Sidstnævnte blev kendt i Sverige i 1998 for deres unisex jeans med rød tråd – et revultionerende valg på det tidspunkt. Sidenhen har mærket fået internationalt format og sælges således i bl.a. i Paris, New York, Berlin, Hamborg, Wien, Oslo og København samt på nette hos udvalgte webshops.

Stilen er overvejende skandinavisk med et strejf af japansk minimalisme: ren og enkel med rå elementer og skæve detaljer. Udgangspunktet var fra start af denim og ungdomskultur, men Acne har udviklet sig til et ready-to-wear brand der konkurrerer på markedet for high-end og luksus varer.

Det nyeste skud på stammen er ACNE Miniature – high fashion tøj til børn skabt ud fra voksenkollektionerne men med forbehold og respekt for, at børn er børn, med deres former og hverdag. Således finder du f.eks. den fantastiske sorte Acne Dita kjole i børneudgaven Mini Dita kjole hos www.kidsofluxury.dk, som forhandler ACNE Miniature som nogle af de eneste i verden. Du kan også glæde dig til ACNE Miniature’s jeans, som blev spottet i VOGUE Bambino for nyligt og ligeledes snart bliver forhandlet hos www.kidsofluxury.dk.

Spot på Henrik Vibskov

Den danske designer Henrik Vibskov er ikke bare en fantastisk designer, men nok det man vil betegne som et multitalent. Siden han i 2001 tog afgang fra den anerkendte designskole Central St. Martins i London, er det blevet til mange prisbelønnede kollektioner, der er spottet på kendte som bl.a. Jay-Z, Kanye West, Björk, The Arctic Monkeys, Sigur Ros og Franz Ferdinand, og p.t. er han den eneste officielle, skandinaviske designer til den parisiske modeuge til mænd. Derudover udfylder han også pladsen som trommeslager for den danske elektroniske musiker Trentemøller og har flere udstillinger bag sig på bl.a. MoMA i New York og Palais de Tokyo i Paris.

Hans stil er kontroversiel. Han udfordrer eksisterende former og farver og skaber nye - men ofte med reference til skræddertraditionen.

Nyeste skud på stammen er børnetøj, som bliver fremstillet i få men lækre styles. Disse styles er præget af klare, stærke farver, og de populære loose fit fløjlsbukser til kvinder er kommet med i en børneudgave.

Vi er meget glade for at kunne præsentere Henrik Vibskovs børnetøj hos Kids of Luxury. Det er nemlig kun en nøje udvalgt skare, der får lov. Således bliver hans kollektioner kun solgt fra hans egen butik i København, i New York, Tokyo, Amsterdam, Moscow, Seoul og på Hawaii – samt en håndfuld steder på internettet.

Soft Gallery - Dansk designertøj til børn

Soft Gallery er grundlagt af designeren Tine Holt Møller og modefotografen og stylisten Barbara Hvidt.

 

Konceptet for Soft Gallery er at skabe unikt og anderledes børnetøj baseret på et samarbejde med lokale og internationale kunstnere, bestilt til at skabe kunstværker, som præsenteres i kollektionen på forskellig vis.

 

Deres første samling blev lanceret i butikker i 2008 i Danmark, Sverige, Norge, Storbritannien og Frankrig. Den blev modtaget så godt, at det nu efterspørges til voksne også, og det resulterer i, at der i næste kollektion bliver lavet enkelte styles til kvinder.

 

Forår/sommerkollektionen 2009 er skabt i samarbejde med kunstnerne Rafaela de Campos (Rio), Sarah Becker (København), William Broome (London), James Peel (New York) og Andreas Emenius (Stockholm). Soft Gallery er et dansk mærke i internationalt format og vi spår dem en stor fremtid hos Kids of Luxury.

Designertøj på nettet

Så er der endelig åbnet et sted på nettet, som udelukkende fokuserer på børnemode. Siden handler med eksklusivt børnetøj og babytøj, og adressen er: www.kidsofluxury.dk

Kids of Luxury fører en række kendte mærker i både nationalt og internationalt format. Af eksempler kan bl.a. nævnes: Acne Miniature, Henrik Vibskov børnetøj, Soft Gallery, Stories by RikkeMai børne halstørklæder. 

Derudover forhandler Kids of Luxury et upcoming, hollandsk og bedst af alt, økologisk børnetøjsmærke, kaldet Imps & Elfs. Dette mærke er ret specielt, da det er medlem af "Made-by", som er en organisation, der bruges af modebranchen for at vise kunderne, at babytøjet og børnetøjet er økologisk og forsvarligt fremstillet - dvs. at tøjproducenten f.eks. ikke benytter sig af børnearbejde.
